PICS: Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor start prepping for their next, Batti Gul Meter Chalu

Shahid Kapoor’s portrayal as a noble king in Padmaavat is being appreciated by one and all. Shahid’s restrained performance and his romantic track with Queen Padmini is one of the major highlights of the film.

Shahid Kapoor has already started prepping for his next film with Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. Shahid will be seen as a lawyer in the film. Batti Gul Meter Chalu will be directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Shree Narayan Singh’s last film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was a huge success.

Today, Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were clicked in the city with Shree Narayan Singh as they did a script-reading session. Shahid and Shraddha both looked uber-cool in casuals.

Shraddha has been filming for Stree which is touted to be a horror-comedy with Rajkummar Rao. Shahid has been training with a coach to get the accent right for the film. “Now, that 'Padmaavat' has released and is out of my system, I can focus on other projects,” he said recently.

Shree Narayan Singh had said in an earlier interview about Shahid, “Shahid is fantastic. He liked the idea and when he met me and he agreed for the movie within five minutes. Our equation is really good. Shahid is playing a lawyer in the film."

The makers are already impressed with Shahid as he has been going an extra length to prep for the film which will be based in Uttarakhand and will deal with the issue of electricity prices.
