PICS: Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan is no more; Sanjay Dutt to Sunny Deol, celebs express condolence

Veeru Devgan, actor Ajay Devgn’s father and veteran action choreographer and director, passed away on Monday morning in Mumbai. The funeral will take place today at 6pm at Mumbai’s Vile Parle West crematorium. Following the news, many actors took to social media to express their condolence and some reached Ajay Devgn’s house to pay last respect. Veeru Devgan had introduced Ajay in Bollywood with the 1991 film Phool Aur Kante opposite actress Madhoo.

Born in Amritsar, Veeru Devgan has choreographed fight and action scenes for over 80 films including major hits such as Himmatwala, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Mr India, Shahenshah and Paap Ko Jalaa Kar Raakh Kar Doonga. He also produced films Hindustan Ki Kasam, Dil Kya Kare and Singhasan.

Veeru Devgan was a well-known and respected name in the Bollywood industry. On Monday morning, he complained of breathlessness and was admitted to Surya hospital, Santacruz.  Sadly, after being admitted, the senior action director suffered cardiac arrest and passed away. Many Bollywood celebrities reached Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s residence today to pay their respect and extend their support to the family. Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Sajid Khan were among the first ones to arrive.
