Photos: Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha shoot for Ittefaq

Yash Chopra’s classic, Ittefaq is being remade with Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra. Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan are co-producing the whodunit that starred Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. Abhay Chopa, B.R. Chopra’s grand-son has directed the film.

Today, Sonakshi and Sidharth shot for promotional material of the film. Sidharth and Sonakshi were spotted in an upbeat mood and posed for pictures.

About the film, Sonakshi had said, “I have not seen the old Ittefaq. So for me, I am doing a new film. And I am sure a lot of people from our generation have not seen the original Ittefaq either. The way film is rewritten and adapted to fit in today’s scenario and time, makes it a fresh film. I am looking at it as a new film,” to a leading daily.

Sidharth also clarified that the plot has been modified. He said, “It’s not exactly the same. The premise will be different although the gist is the same. It is still about one night but we have modified the script. Otherwise, everyone knows what it’s all about and there would be no fun. All the characters here are motivated differently,” to a leading daily.

At an event earlier, Sid had said, “I am extremely excited for ‘Ittefaq’. It is a remake of the super-hit 1969 film ‘Ittefaq.’ The benchmark for me has already been set as superstar Rajesh Khanna was a part of the film back then, and I have to match up to his acting abilities in this remake.”
