Photos: Shah Rukh Khan graces the inaugural event of Hema Malini’s International Dance Festival

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Hema Malini share a very special connection; it was Hema Malini who first spotted the talent of Shah Rukh Khan and launched him in Bollywood. Hema Malini directed and produced the film Dil Aashna Hai which was supposed to be Shah Rukh’s first release. Shah Rukh is close to Hema Malini and holds her in high regard as he faced camera for Bollywood the first time with Dil Aashna Hai.

Hema Malini is a dancing diva and her love for the art is well-known. Hema Malini has organized an international dance festival in Mumbai. Shah Rukh attended the inaugural event of Hema Malini’s International Cultural Dance Festival today along with the Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis. Shah Rukh lit the inaugural lamp on the stage that will see brilliant dance performances.

“Shah Rukh had said yes to her film instantly, back then. And things haven't changed in the last 25 years — one call from her and he said he would be there for her event, no matter how busy he is,” a source had told a daily.

About the show, Hema Malini had told a daily, “This year we are proud to associates with another rich ancient culture of GEORGIA, to create a fusion, a SYNERGY.  We intend to grow every year under JAYASMRITI, and have such wonderful collaborations with different countries. India is so culturally rich, a golden bowl of culture and heritageand I want to safe guard our culture, and spread it across the world”
