Photos: Kajol and Rani Mukerji clicked at Shashi Kapoor’s residence

Shashi Kapoor passed away at 5.20 PM today. Fraternity members mourned his death and visited his bereaved family. Rani Mukerji and cousin Kajol were among the first to reach Shashi Kapoor's residence.

Veteran actor and highly respected Hindi film industry actor Shashi Kapoor ji breathed his last today. He was battling health issues and succumbed to an ailment today. Film fraternity has been pouring in at the hospital and his house to pay their final respect.

"Shashi Kapoor expired at 5.20 p.m. on December 4 at Kokilaben Hospital, here," Dr. Ram Narain, Executive Director of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, had confirmed to a news agency. Shashi Kapoor's nephew and actor Randhir Kapoor too confirmed the news. "He has passed away," Randhir told the news agency. Shashi Kapoor is now survived by three kids Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor.

Amitabh Bachchan with son Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were clicked at Shashi ji’s house. Kajol and Rani Mukerji also came in to meet the family.

Rani Mukerji came in with friend Vaibhavi Merchant. Karisma Kapoor and Boney Kapoor also came to meet the family at the Kapoor house.

Meanwhile, industry has been mourning the loss of a great actor and a wonderful human being.

Karan Johar wrote on twitter, “#RIPShashiKapoor ...the most charming and enigmatic actor ever...a gentleman movie star! His legacy in film and theatre is exceptional...thoughts and prayers with the family....his work will always live on...”

In his career span of nearly four decades, he has acted in some great films. He has acted in more than 110 films. His best films were with Amitabh Bachchan. He romanced many beautiful actresses onscreensuch as Nanda, Raakhee, Sharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman, Hema Malini, Parveen Babi and many others.
