Photos: Janhvi Kapoor is the definition of a pretty in pink princess for the WIFT Awards In Washington

The year 2018 saw the dream Bollywood debut of late veteran actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor's elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor. The newcomer starred in Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter and knocked it out of the park with her earnest and heartfelt performance which garnered Janhvi praises from both the audience and critics alike. The movie went on to win hearts at the box office as well. It was truly a dream debut for Janhvi and hence it comes as no surprise that she has already been honoured with an award for it. 

Several days back, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Janhvi was going to win the WIFT Emerald Award at the first Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Awards for Dhadak. The WIFT Emerald Award is bestowed upon an actress for her debut performance in a film. The ceremony took place today in Washington, D.C. and Janhvi Kapoor made sure to look her fashionable best for the event. Her stylist took to Instagram to share photos of the actress before the award show and Janhvi stuns in a baby pink outfit. The actress adorned a Reema Acra strapless baby pink gown with silver embellishments in it and paired the gorgeous dress with silver strappy heels.

Meanwhile, along with Janhvi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the inaugural recipient of the Meryl Streep Award for Excellence. On the other hand, Gully Boy director Zoya Akhtar received the Wyler Award for Excellence in Direction.
