Photos: Farhan Akhtar and Diana Penty promote Lucknow Central on Comedy Dangal

Farhan Akhtar and Diana Penty’s next film, Lucknow Central is a prison escape drama. The film that releases on 15^th September has been directed by debutante Ranjit Tiwari. Promotions of the film have begun in full swing and today the team was spotted on the sets of Comedy Dangal for promotions. Bharti Singh and Anu Malik judge the newly launched show Comedy Dangal. It has celebs like Surbhi Jyoti, Anita Hassanandani, Debina Bonnerjee, Monalisa and Amit Tandon participating in it.  

Lucknow Central will see Farhan playing a Bhojpuri prisoner who is passionate about music and Diana will be seen portraying the role of an NGO worker in the film. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy and Rajesh Sharma.

Speaking about her role in the film, Diana had said, “Playing a character that holds her own in a film that has some of the finest actors from our industry, makes it even more special for me.” Diana was last seen in Happy Bhaag Jayegi and has wrapped up Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran with John Abraham.

For Farhan Akhtar, this will be his third film that is based on the backdrop of music & musical bands. He was earlier a part of Rock On, Rock On 2 and now, Lucknow Central is also based on a similar theme. About his love for music Farhan was quoted saying, “There has been a rekindling of my love and desire to sing and play musical instruments. The last eight years have been a journey in that direction, whether it is performing live or writing and composing my own songs. That has happened because of the experience I had with Rock On!! We were a fictional band of sorts in the film, but it gave us the joy of creating music. I just moved along in that direction.”
