Photos: Deepika Padukone looks gorgeous as ever as she promotes Padmavati

Deepika Padukone has been promoting her upcoming film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The film has been embroiled in controversies with regards to its content. Many groups are alleging that the director has distorted historical facts in the film.

Deepika promoted the film today by giving out interviews to the media. She spoke about the controversy and her role in the film.

About the protests against the film, Deepika had said in an interview to a news agency, “It's appalling, it's absolutely appalling. What have we gotten ourselves into? And where have we reached as a nation? We have regressed. The only people we are answerable to is the censor board, and I know and I believe that nothing can stop the release of this film.”

She has also time and again said that Padmavati is her most challenging film yet. “I can't remember the last time I was so nervous. I think it is the function of the fact that this one is completely different from any of my previous roles. My role is not from the heart or head, it's from the gut,” Deepika had said during a media interaction.  She had also said, “We have faced many challenges but still, we stand up with the same spirit and keep on going. Nothing can stop us.”

Padmavati is slated to release on 1^st December, 2017 and also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor.
