Photos: Akshay Kumar gets papped at the airport

Akshay Kumar’s last release, Toilet:Ek Prem Katha is ruling the box-office. The film conveys a social message about open defecation. Akshay has had a fantastic year with Jolly LLB 2 and now Toilet:Ek Prem Katha. He was also awarded the National Award for Best acting for his film, Rustom. Akshay is literally ‘The Hit Machine’; over the last two years he has made films like Airlift, Rustom, Housefull 3 and Naam Shabana. He also has Shankar’s 2.0 with Rajnikanth in the pipeline in which he plays the role of an antagonist.

Akshay is currently filming Reema Kagti’s next, Gold with Mouni Roy in London. Reema Kagti, director of Gold had said, “I’ve always been interested in the great sports films. I can watch them over and over again. And I wanted to direct a sports film. It wasn’t until my friend the lyricist-writer Ankur Tiwari shared the idea of a film on a historic hockey match that India played at the 1948 Olympics and brought home India’s first gold medal, that I finally got down to doing my own sports film”

Akshay has also completed shooting for wife Twinkle Khanna’s maiden production venture, PadMan. The film is based on the life of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham who is a the inventor of low-cost sanitary napkin making machine. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in key roles.
