Padma Shri awardee Nana Chudasama passed away at the age of 85 on December 23, 2018. Today, a prayer meeting was held by his family members in the city.

Former Sheriff of Mumbai, Nana Chudasama passed away on December 23, 2018, due to illness. He was 85 when he breathed his last. Talking about it, a family member stated to The Times of India, "He was unwell for last some days. He passed away at his home in Colaba." His daughter Shaina NC, is a fashion designer and BJP's spokesperson. The CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis had paid his condolences to Nana Chudasama by saying, "Chudasama was truly connected to citizens with several NGOs and has always supported the activities. His two liner message board at the Marine Drive was a reflection of his personality."

Today, a prayer meet in his honour was held in Mumbai by his family members which were attended by several Bollywood celebrities. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were snapped with her mother Vrinda Rai while arriving at the prayer meet. They were seen paying their condolences to Shaina and other family members. Moreover, they were even seen writing a note post the prayer meet.

Earlier, Governor of Maharashtra, C Vidyasagar Rao spoke about Nana Chudasama saying, "The contribution of Nana Chudasama to Mumbai's socio-economic and cultural life was of a high order. He was among the foremost champions of a clean and green Mumbai. Through his initiative I Love Mumbai, he organized plant shows and promoted tree plantation. Through his popular banners on the Marine Drive, he commented upon the paradoxes of public life and polity in a humorous way."
