Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor have started shooting for Dhadak. The film is an official Hindi remake of the Marathi superhit Sairat. Sairat was directed by Nagraj Manjule.

Dhadak is being helmed by Shashank Khaitan. The team has started shooting for the film in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Designer Manish Malhotra shared a picture from the sets on his Instagram page. In the photo, Shashank is posing as a strict director and giving strict instructions to Ishaan and Jahnvi. Both the actors pretend to be scared of him. Ishaan is even joining his hands in the photo. It's quite a funny picture.

Manish captioned the picture, "#udaipur on the sets of @dharmamovies #Dhadak #director @shashankkhaitan with his young actors #ishaankhattar and #jhanvikapoor Having Fun posing for my camera ...trying to pose as a strict director and the two young actors pretending to be scared..."

We hope to see more such fun insights from Dhadak sets in the future.

A few posters of Dhadak were released, a few days ago. Ishaan and Janhvi looked stunning together and have got everyone excited for the movie.

In an interview with a leading agency, Shashank had said, "The basic premise is of differences in caste, honour killing and what it means to survive in that world and I feel that is the conflict that is alive all across India, you will hear stories like that. So in that sense, the basic premise (of Dhadak and Sairat) is same. But there are variations. My story is based on another set up… It is (set) in Rajasthan. It comes with its own challenges, conflicts and style of a love story."

He went on to add, "It wasn’t tough to get the poster look for the film as we were sticking to the story that we have written and the world that we have created. Even the idea of the poster was to remain as honest as possible to the film that we want to make."

Shashank added, "We are adapting Sairat into the world that we want to. The focus entirely was to present them (Janhvi and Ishaan) as the characters of the film."

Dhadak, to be co-produced by Zee Studios and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, is set for a July 6, 2018, release.
