Badminton champion Prakash Padukone and cricketing legend Rahul Dravid launched a sports academy in Bengaluru today.
Today, Badminton champion Prakash Padukone along with Rahul Dravid launched the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence, India’s premier sports facility in Bengaluru. The inaugural event was organized today. Deepika Padukone flew down to be with her family yesterday whereas Ranveer Singh was clicked at the airport today.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were in attendance at the event in Bengaluru that also saw sporting legends like Abhinav Bindra, Vishwanathan Anand, Geet Sethi and others in attendance, besides Prakash Padukone and Rahul Dravid.
Deepika Padukone shared an emotional anecdote on the stage at the inaugural ceremony of the academy. She also posted a special photo on her social media account and captioned it, “Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence[PDCSE]—this is by far the BEST thing that could’ve happened to Indian Sport! Congratulations!

Ranveer Singh also shared photos with sporting legends on his Instagram account. He shared a lovely selfie with Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone and captioned it as, “God of Badminton”. Check out the photo!
Ranveer Singh is very close to Deepika’s family and at an awards function last year, even touched Deepika’s parents’ feet before going on stage to collect his award. Deepika too had claimed that Ranveer’s family is her family in Mumbai.
On a talk-show, when Ranveer had called Deepika, “marriage material”, Deepika’s dad Prakash Padukone had reacted on it by saying, “They are adults and know what they are doing. As a father, I have given Deepika the freedom to take her own decisions. Even in this case, she is free to decide whatever she wants to do.”
