Photo: Ranbir Kapoor goes straight to RK Studios after returning from London

A major fire broke out at the iconic RK Studio in Mumbai day before yesterday. The studio was established by the legendary actor Raj Kapoor decades ago. The situation was brought under control as fire attendants had rushed to the spot. There were no casualties reported but a major part of the studio had caught on fire.
Actor Rishi Kapoor had tweeted, “Sad A major fire broke out at RK Studios. We have lost the iconic Stage 1 Thankfully no casualties nor injuries. All your concerns appreciated. A Studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all RK Films,is tragic for all. Fire took it away”
“No one was present on the set while the studio caught fire. There is no casualty or injuries reported. Cost of damage is yet to be ascertained," a source had said to a leading daily.
The fire destroyed the ground floor of the studio. Super Dancer Season 2 was being shot at the location when fire broke out. A source said, “The next shoot is planned for the first week of October. We are hopeful that we will be able to make amends by that time and get the set ready.”
Ranbir Kapoor who was away in London when the massive fire destroyed rushed to the studio with uncles Rajiv Kapoor and Manoj Jain. He was clicked exiting the studio as he took stock of the situation.
