Photo: Deepika Padukone stuns in red at Padmavati's promotions

Deepika Padukone is currently engrossed in the promotions for her upcoming release Padmavati. 

The magnum opus which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and will see Deepika play the role of Rani Padmini. Ranveer Singh plays the main antagonist Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor will be seen as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh.

Deepika's stylist Shaleena Nathani shared a picture of the actress today as she got ready for another round of promotions for Padmavati.

Deepika looked gorgeous in a red floor-length Anarkali with golden embellishments on the shoulders which she paired with dangling jhumkaas. Her hair was styled in a sleek side-parted ponytail. Soft and brown smokey eyes with some freshness on the lips were all the makeup Deepika needed to accentuate the outfit.

Meanwhile, talking to a leading news channel about Padmavati, Deepika said, "According to me, the film has already released. It's that kind of an excitement. I can't wait, as we know what all is there in the movie and how much is left for us to show the audience. I feel that the film should release now. It's been extremely overwhelming and tiring as well. There was a lot of hard work and challenges that we had to face. We've still overcome those and did what we wanted to do. With the same spirit, we'll go forward and nothing can stop this film."

Deepika's breakthrough as an actress came when she played Veronica in Cocktail. Veronica is a character that has made a place in Deepika's heart and now Rani Padmavati has also proclaimed a position in Deepika's soul. Deepika revealed, "Before this, it had happened with Cocktail. Even now, Veronica is in my system somewhere hidden inside me. And, I feel the same with Padmavati. Her soul is in me and I can feel her in my system for many years. I don't think it's going to leave my system for a while. It's her power, it's her strength, it's her conviction, it's her courage."

Padmavati is slated to release on December 1, 2017.
