Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Sunny Deol offers prayers at Golden Temple before filing nomination from Gurdaspur

Phase four of General elections have kicked off in many states including Maharashtra and many Bollywood actors are getting spotted as they went to their respective polling booths to cast their vote. Actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol recently joined politics. For the unversed, he joined Bhartiya Janta Party on April 23. He will file his nomination from Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency today and was snapped by the paparazzi recently at the Golden temple ahead of the same.

Sunny Deol who is a Sikh was seen sporting a blue-hued turban and matching shirt. He was accompanied by his supporters. Apparently, after seeking the blessings, he left for Gurdaspur where he will file his nomination papers.

For the unversed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met Sunny Deol and posted a photo of the meeting on Twitter. In the tweet, he stated that he was impressed with the actor's passion for the nation. PM tweeted, "What struck me about Sunny Deol is his humility and deep passion for a better India."

As per NDTV's report, his father, veteran actor Dharmendra and brother, actor Bobby Deol may be present with him during the filing. He will also be accompanied by Kavita Khanna, wife of former Gurdaspur MP late Vinod Khanna and Union Minister Jitendra Singh.

Talking about his competition, he will be facing Congress candidate and sitting MP Sunil Jakhar. Speaking of Sunny Deol, he was seen in many blockbuster movies such as Border, Betaab, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha and Ghayal among others.
