Sanjay's mother Nargis Dutt had a connection with Raj Kapoor. In his book, Khullam Khulla, Rishi Kapoor has mentioned about Raj Kapoor's affair with Nargis Dutt. Rishi wrote, "He was also a man in love – at the time, unfortunately, with someone other than my mother. His girlfriend was the leading lady of some of his biggest hits of the time, including Aag (1948), Barsaat (1949) and Awara (1951)." Rishi added that Nargis was Raj Kapoor’s "in-house heroine" and was understandably immortalised in the RK Studios emblem.

These things are of the past and now everyone has moved on. Not just the B-Town celebs, fans are equally saddened over the news of her death. Twitter is filled with condolence messages by the well-wishers. One of the Twitter users wrote, "Mrs. Krishna Raj Kapoor is no more. She was an extremely graceful lady and a fantastic host. Will miss the occasional interactions that she used to have with us. RIP. #krishnarajkapoor #KrishnaRajKapoor."
