Imtiaz Ali takes a trip down the memory lane with Alia Bhatt as Highway completes 4 years of release
It's been four years since Imtiaz Ali's directorial Highway released. The film starred Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles and it was the former's second movie.
Imtiaz Ali's directorial Highway was a special film in its own way. It was Alia's second film and she proved that she is here to stay. Her performance was incredible in the movie and she carved her niche in the industry.
It's been four years since Highway released and Imtiaz took a trip down the memory lane. He took to his Instagram page and shared a selfie with Alia. Moreover, he also posted a few clips from the intense scenes picturised on Alia.
Imtiaz captioned the post stating, "4 years of Highway!"
Earlier, Karan Johar, who launched Alia revealed that it was him who recommended her name to Imtiaz for Highway. He stated, "I am glad that Imtiaz took Alia for Highway, which is considered one of the best performances of her. But I had to vouch for her to Imtiaz. When I had told him about Alia and requested him to take her in his film, he was not at all sure about her acting prowess after Student of the Year. But I had assured him that she has the capacity to be the lead for his film."
He also said, "Alia had called me to tell that she got a script from Imtiaz for his next project. She told me she is there in every page of the script and she is playing the main lead. I told her to do it."
Meanwhile, Alia is currently shooting for Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy in Bulgaria. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji.
