IFFI 2017 Inside Pics: Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan grace the closing ceremony

B-Town celebs closed the International Film Festival of India today in Goa with a bang. Sidharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar paid a tribute to Amitabh Bachchan, who gave a speech at the ceremony. Amitabh Bachchan was also honored with Indian Film Personality of the Year award at the ceremony.

Sidharth performed on popular Bachchan numbers like Khaika Paan Banaras Wala, Saara Zamaana Haseeno Ka Deewana and more. Sidharth even posted, “An actor, a gentleman, an inspiration that transcends generations,There is only one Amitabh Bachchan ! I feel blessed to be an actor in the same era as you sir ,today’s performance was a small thank you from your biggest fan, Love you Amitabh Bachchan sir,” on his social media account.

Akshay Kumar too wrote, “America has Batman, Spider-Man, Superman...but India and my superhero is our very own Angry Young Man, @SrBachchan Sir, rightly the Indian Personality of the Year ! #IFFI2017.”

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif also attended the ceremony that was presided by ministers Smriti Irani and Manohar Parikkar. Sonali Bendre hosted the evening which also saw Zaira Wasim and Huma Quereshi in attendance.

The week long fiesta saw many films being screened including some controversial ones. Bollywood’s biggest stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Sridevi, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan among others descended on the stage at IFFI.

The winners were also announced today during the closing ceremony. The Best Film Award was bestowed to 120 Beats Per Minute by Robin Campillo.
