After battling with cancer, Indo-Canadian actor Lisa Ray announced on Monday that she had become a mother to twin daughters, Sufi and Soleil. Yes, today, the actor shared this wonderful news with her fans as she posted a picture with her new-born babies. Talking about her babies and motherhood, Lisa shared, “My life at the moment is full of cascading emotions, attempting to coordinate feeding, napping and play schedules while juggling work, self care, travel and time with friends, family and my hubby.”
Nowadays, a lot of B-town celebrities are embracing surrogacy, and another one to join the list is 46-years-old Lisa Ray. Talking about becoming a parent in mid-40s, Lisa said, “I used to worry having kids would slow me down, or define me, but I’ve put those old beliefs to bed. My husband and I are becoming parents in our mid-40s which is also unconventional, but the right time for us.” Besides Lisa Ray, other celebrities who have embraced surrogacy include Sunny Leone, Karan Johar, Tusshar Kapoor, and Aamir Khan, among others.
Currently, Lisa Ray is nursing her twin daughters in Georgia but the actress can’t wait to come back to India. “I can’t wait to bring our daughters to our home in Mumbai. I love to see Jason with them, growing into his new role as a father, holding them, changing diapers on the weekend..”
For the uninitiated, Lisa Ray was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2009. After a year-long battle, Lisa was finally declared cancer-free in 2010. Unfortunately, in 2012, her cancer relapsed. Lisa Ray got married to Jason Dehni in 2012 and walked into her happily ever after. The wedding took place in Napa Valley. Lisa Ray was last seen in the supernatural horror film Dobaara (2017) directed by Prawaal Raman.
