It's been over five decades since Hema Malini made her debut into the showbiz. Before making her big Bollywood debut with Sapno Ka Saudagar opposite Raj Kapoor, Malini was seen in a Tamil movie titled Ithu Sathiyam. Post that, she worked in several movies opposite Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Rajesh Khanna and Dev Anand. Not just a brilliant actor, Hema is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who has displayed a lot of work on TV as well. In 1977, Hema starred in a film called Dream Girl and since then that name has been attached to her and truly so.
With her winged eyeliner and South Indian features, Hema looked every bit beautiful then and now. With age, Hema has only graced and how! Be it her traditional sarees or western wear, Hema pulled off every outfit with equal grace. She got married to Dharmendra in 1979 and has two children with him, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. In her career spanning over 5 decades, she received eleven nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, winning the award in 1973. She was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour awarded by the Government of India in 2000.
