First Look: Anushka Sharma dons the traditional chooda at DJ party post-wedding with Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot on December 11, 2017.
Weeks went by as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's impending wedding made headlines. Finally, putting all the rumours and speculations to rest, the couple took to Twitter to jointly announce that they were indeed husband and wife and that they got married on December 11, 2017.
Their joint statement read, "Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share this wonderful news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey."
While pictures and videos from the engagement, Mehendi and jai-mala ceremonies have gone viral, we got our hands on pictures of the couple at the DJ party which took place at night after the wedding.
New bride Anushka looked gorgeous in a beige pastel full sleeved high-neck floor-length gown with sequin work at the waist. Brushed down open hair with minimal makeup, pearl stud earrings, the traditional chooda (red and white bangles a Punjabi bride wears post marriage) and her sparkling wedding ring completed the bridal look to perfection.
On the other hand, Virat looked handsome in a pathani kurta.
Meanwhile, two receptions will be held in India. One will be on December 21, 2017, in Delhi which will be attended by the newlyweds' close friends. And another in Mumbai on December 26, 2017, which will be attended by the cricketers and Bollywood celebrities.
"The Bollywood brigade is expected to be represented by Anushka’s former co-stars, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, filmmaker Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukerji, along with Mukesh and Nita Ambani," a source informed the tabloid.
