“They all love Shah Rukh Khan here in Japan! Most fans have already seen Om Shanti Om many times, but are thrilled to see it in Japanese. Many people at the premiere were dressed in Indian outfits. While the girls wore SRK masks, the guys wore outfits from the song which shows Shah Rukh’s six-pack abs. They got gifts for me too. My distributor there, Parks wrote me a sweet letter when he had invited me about how OSO had helped him to deal with the loss of his grown-up son’s death who had died in the 1995 earthquake in Japan. OSO is about re-incarnation of the soul which many Japanese identify with. At the premier many people in the audience were so emotionally moved that they cried. I signed on the wall where all international directors whose films have premiered there. It’s one of the oldest theatre’s in Tokyo! They even had special OSO menus and chocolates at the premiere,” Farah Khan.
