Manisha Koirala aced the role of Sanjay Dutt's mother and veteran actress Nargis Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju. Her uncanny resemblance to Nargis ji has made her win the battle and she has put her best foot forward in displaying the character.

We got in touch with her to know her reaction on Sanju getting appreciated. On this, she told us, "It's such a heartwarming moment and it's really nice to know that the film has been appreciated. I am glad that people are liking the work and it just feels great."

Talking about playing the role of Nargis Dutt, she told us, "Basically, I received many messages who knew Nargis Dutt and they all said that you have made it really resemble and tell us how. I was like I just took the guidelines that Raju sir had given and some of my own research through book and documentaries. People who knew Nargis ji - some of them who messaged me that you have made her alive onscreen. I feel great as an artist that I am able to bring that. It was a nice feedback."

While talking to her, we talked about the song sequence between Ranbir Kapoor and her and how Kar Har Maidaan Fateh added to the whole story. On this, she told us, "That song is like my life motto. When I had heard the song, I had fallen for the song. In between, Raju was doubtful that to keep the song or not and I was praying that he keeps it. It gives me goosebumps."

On an ending note, she said, "It's a team effort and everyone has done their job - be it Ranbir, Dia, Sonam, Anushka or Jim. The story has been conveyed masterfully and beautifully by Rajkumar Hirani."

Sanju hit the screens yesterday and is doing a great business at the box office.
