An ecstatic Deepika Padukone WOWS us with her look at the special screening of Padmaavat, view photos

Deepika Padukone, yesterday, confessed to being in an emotional state of mind. She said she was overwhelmed with all the love coming her way for her portrayal of Queen Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat.

Today, Deepika was clicked at the special screening of the film that was attended by the who’s who of the film industry. From Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh to Varun Dhawan, everybody gave a thumbs up to the film. Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput were also present at the screening.

Deepika shined, quite literally with her outfit. She donned a shiny velvet dress and completed the look with statement earrings. Deepika was in an upbeat mood and smiled for the cameras.

The film has been through many controversies. There was immense opposition from a few Rajput groups and the Censor Board. However, the film has finally released today to packed theatres.

At an event yesterday where she was honored with the ‘Most Stylish Female’ Award, she had said, “I am extremely overwhelmed and emotional right now. I think this film has been through so much. To see that the film is finally releasing and to see the kind of reactions that the film is getting, reactions to my performance, it is extremely overwhelming.”

When asked to give a response to Karni Sena, she simply said, “There is a time for everything. The film has spoken for itself. The reactions to the film have been absolutely phenomenal. That is the best response we can give to anyone through the work that we do.”
