Dharmendra pays a tribute to Shashi Kapoor with this throwback picture
Dharmendra today shared a heartfelt message for legendary actor Shashi Kapoor.
Legendary Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor breathed his last on 4th December, 2017. The phenomenal actor, who was 79, died due to a prolonged illness. He had gone through bypass surgery a few months back and had been admitted to the hospital due to chest infection.
"Shashi Kapoor expired at 5.20 p.m. on December 4 at Kokilaben Hospital, here," Dr. Ram Narain, Executive Director of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, had confirmed to a news agency.
As the news of his death shocked many, condolences started pouring in on social media from B-Town celebs and his fans. From Amitabh Bachchan to Priyanka Chopra to Akshay Kumar offered their heartfelt condolences to the yesteryear actor.
Today, Dharmendra also shared a picture of young Shashi Kapoor with legendary actor Raj Kapoor and captioned it as, ‘’ You have been a childhood admiration, a wonderful actor and a beautiful human being .. this world is going to miss you Shashi!!!’’
The post was a clear indication of how massively Shashi Kapoor inspired Dharmendra.
Dharmendra got a chance to work with Shashi Kapoor in a few movies like Jaani Dost, Aag Ka Toofan, Krodhi, Haqeeqat and few more. He has always adored Shashi Kapoor since he was young.
Amitabh Bachchan also penned a heartfelt post for late actor Shashi Kapoor, with whom he formed an enormously successful on-screen partnership.
Today, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Amitabh Bachchan with son Abhishek Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor attended the funeral.
In his career span of nearly four decades, Kapoor has acted in some amazing films. Shashi Kapoor has acted as a child actor in several Hindi films. The talented actor has acted in more than 110 films.
Some of his best performances include films like Mehndi Lagi Mere Haath, Kabhi Kabhie, New Delhi Times, Roti Kapda Aur Makan, Heeralal Pannalal, Deewar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Raja Saab, Pighalta Aasman and many others. He has also acted in several English films such as The Householder, Bombay Talkie, Heat and Dust and many others. Kapoor was India's first actor to go international and work in English movies.
He was also honored with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and three National Film Awards.
