Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh wedding: Menu served at the Konkani Naandi Puja
Deepika Padukone's mother organised a Naandi Puja at their residence in Bengaluru today. Traditional Konkani delicacies were served to the guests after the puja.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s pre-wedding festivities began today with a Naandi Puja organized by Deepika’s mother Ujjala Padukone at her residence in Bengaluru. Naandi means ‘beginning’ in Konkani and the puja signifies the beginning of the wedding festivities. In the olden days, the first pillar of the wedding mandap would be laid on the day of the Naandi puja after offering prayers to Lord Ganesha and ancestors. Deepika Padukone looked radiant in an orange suit at the puja.
Guests were served traditional Konkani delicacies like Dalitoy, Bibbe Upkari, Kosambari and Puliogare on a banana leaf. Deepika Padukone’s team including her hairstylist, makeup artist and stylist shared photos on social media. They shared photos of them savouring the vegetarian delicacies after the puja. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh put rumours to rest by finally announcing their wedding date on October 21, 2018. The couple will get married on November 14 and 15. They are reported to leave for Italy on November 10, 2018, after Ranveer Singh wraps up the shoot of Simmba.
The couple has invited only 30 close friends and family as per reports and Deepika Padukone and her family will be wearing Sabyasachi outfits. The couple will host two wedding receptions after returning from Italy. The reception in Mumbai will be on December 1, 2018, at the Grand Hyatt and in Bengaluru on November 21, 2018, at The Leela Palace Hotel. The couple will have a brief honeymoon as Ranveer Singh will have to start promotions of Simmba.
