Boney Kapoor and Anil Kapoor perform Asthi Visarjan of Sridevi in Haridwar
Sridevi's untimely death has left her family and the film industry devastated. Today, her husband Boney Kapoor and brother-in-law Anil Kapoor headed to Haridwar to immerse her ashes.
It's been more than 10 days since Sridevi passed away and left everyone with a void in their hearts. The Kapoor family is going through a tough time as they are still coping with this unbearable loss. Today, Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor and brother-in-law Anil Kapoor were snapped at the airport while on their way to Haridwar. They were joined by the late actor's close friend Manish Malhotra.
They headed to Haridwar to immerse the ashes of Sridevi at VIP Ghat. A media agency shared a few photos of them performing a puja and Boney doing the Asthi Visarjan. The media agency captioned the photos on their Twitter page stating, "Uttarakhand: 'Asthi Visarjan' of #Sridevi was performed by Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Amar Singh and other family members at the VIP ghat in Haridwar."








Earlier talking about this ritual, a source said to a leading daily, "Conducting prayers at Haridwar is a significant custom for Hindus, especially for those who are from North India. And Boney wants to ensure that he goes through the rituals at the holy place."
It is also reported that the prayers in Chennai will not be held on the 13th day but it will be held in Sridevi's hometown on the 16th day.
Post her demise, Boney Kapoor penned a heartfelt tribute to her which read, "Losing a friend, wife and mother of your two young daughters is a loss inexplicable in words. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers and all of you countless fans of my Sridevi who have stood by us like rocks. I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family, we have tried to face this unbearable loss. To the world she was their Chandni..the actor par excellence…their Sridevi..but to me she was my love, my friend, mother to our girls..my partner. To our daughters, she was their everything….their life. She was the axis around which our family ran."
