Bollywood's newest BFFs Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt watch Padmaavat together, view photos

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat has been mired in controversies all throughout the year of 2017. Post a lot of debate, the film will finally hit the screens on January 25. 

Today, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were clicked at the screening of Padmaavat. Alia looked pretty in a traditional outfit. She was seen wearing a yellow kurta and white pyjama. Pink lipstick and beautiful earrings completed her look.

Ranbir, on the other hand, looked handsome in a black sweatshirt and blue denim which he teamed with brown colored shoes.

Padmaavat stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of Alauddin Khilji and Shahid will step into the shoes of Maharawal Ratan Singh. Deepika will be playing Padmini - the Rajput queen.

Talking about the controversy surrounding Padmaavat, Alia had earlier said, ''I said this in my tweet, and I say it again, it’s not just Padmavati, but it is this entire trend of protesting against films that I have a problem with. Let the film release first. There is such a thing as creative license. Just as you have your right to your opinion, I also have my right to expression."

Showering her praises on Deepika, Alia had earlier said, "I’ve not seen the performance yet but I saw the trailer, I think Padmavati…. Deepika is Padmawati was just so fabulous and she just looked like so fabulous and I know I can never look like that or act like that.. she just looks like a Queen and I told her also ‘you are so lovely and so inspiring’ and I just know she is going to nail it in that film I just get that sense. I’m really looking forward to this one."

On the work front, Ranbir and Alia are busy prepping for Brahmastra. The trilogy will be helmed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy will be a part of the cast as well. 

Earlier, about working with Ranbir, Alia had said to a leading daily, “I’m super-excited. I’ve always been open about the fact that I admire Ranbir as an actor, and I’m dying to work with him because I’m going to learn more about acting as a craft (from him). I am just a big fan of Ranbir. I’m also most excited about working with Ayan (Mukerji; director) because I loved both his films (Wake Up Sid, 2009, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, 2013). He’s a very dear person.”
 
On the other hand, about Alia, Ranbir told a leading daily, "I think I can create a distinct creative partnership with Alia. I hope our energies come togetherbecause the whole film depends a lot on our relationship. And as actors, we both have an opportunity, and I hope we can make the best use of it. I don’t think I could have asked for a better film to work in with her."
 
Brahmastra is slated to release on August 15, 2019.
