Blackbuck Poaching case: Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari walk out free
Salman Khan has been convicted in the two-decade-old blackbuck poaching case and Saif Ali Khan, Neelam Kothari, Tabu and Sonali Bendre have been acquitted.
Salman Khan has been convicted in the two-decade-old blackbuck poaching case and Saif Ali Khan, Neelam Kothari, Tabu and Sonali Bendre have been acquitted. Saif, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali were snapped outside the Jodhpur court.
They were accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks in 1998 in Rajasthan's Kankani while the actors were the state for a film shoot. Blackbucks are endangered species and hunting them is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act.

Samir Soni, whose wife Neelam Kothari was one of the co-accused in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, expressed his relief over his wife's acquittal and disappointment over Salman's conviction. "I am happy for Neelam but I am disappointed for Salman Khan..I dont know why he is being singled out," added the actor. "Salman has paid the price for being a star," added Samir.
Rampal Bhawad, the State President of Bishnoi Tigers Vanya Evam Paryavaran Sanstha, told a leading agency, "We'll analyse the judgment. We want an immediate appeal to be filed against those who have been acquitted and we also demand maximum punishment for Salman Khan."
