Patrick Melrose (2018) and Sherlock (2010-2017) actor Benedict Cumberbatch has a major reason to celebrate as he is all set to embrace fatherhood for the third time. While appearing on the golden carpet at the Emmy Awards, which took place today, Benedict's wife Sophie Hunter, who is an English theatre and opera director, was seen debuting her small baby bump in a gorgeous sunshine yellow gown. Just last year, the couple had welcomed their second baby boy Hal Auden. Benedict and Sophie have another son Christopher "Kit" Carlton, who was born in 2015.

This is indeed some amazing news for Benedict and Sophie who, after 17-years of a close friendship, got married on Valentines Day 2015 i.e. February 14, 2015. Back when they were expecting their first child, an ecstatic Benedict spoke about how it was his parents and actors Timothy Carlton and Wanda Ventham who influenced his parenting skills. Benedict shared, "They are the first heroes I ever had in my life and I don’t mean that in a sappy way, it’s the truth."

While talking about how happy he is to have Sophie and his children, Benedict hoped that he could be a parent like his own were to him. "I can only hope to be half as good [a parent] as they were to me, to my children. I have their example to follow so I’ll be doing something right if I am," the actor revealed.

Congratulation to the couple!

Meanwhile, Benedict was nominated at the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his role in the Showtime series Patrick Melrose. However, the 42-year-old actor lost the Emmy to Darren Criss who won for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (2017).

But, Benedict did win Twitterati's hearts all around the world with his 'gleeful' face at watching Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special for The Oscars, Glenn Weiss proposing to girlfriend and athlete Jan Svendsen.
