Ayesha Depala couture on the ramp at HDIL India Couture Week last Friday.
On the third day of the HDIL India Couture Week, designer Ayesha Depala wowed Mumbai with a mesmerising show of beautiful gowns with an indian inspiration, and worn with glorious jewels from Amrapali. Bhawna Sharma started the show with an etheral mint coloured creation and from then on it was hit after hit on the runway! The music of Guy Manoukian was the perfect accompaniment, and when put together with the clothes, it was enough to give us goose bumps. The bigwigs of Indian media and society were there to support, and perhaps a little curious what this newcomer to couture week, who we have been hearing so much about, had to offer. And they certainly were not disappointed, as Anaita Shroff Adjania of Vogue, took away some of the collection with her to shoot that very night! India was blown away by the show, even with the absence of a 'showstopper!" (a distraction of a celebrity on the ramp, created by designers to get on the front page of newspapers!) Thankfully, Mrs. Depala did not go down this route, and it paid off in truckloads! We LOVE (even though we may be biased!) - The Ed.
Spotted: Karan Johar, Anaita Shroff Adjania, Apoorva Lakhia, Queenie Singh, Anu Dewan, Akbar Khan.
