Asha Bhosle honored with Yash Chopra Memorial Award; Parineeti Chopra, Rekha and other celebs grace the event

Bollywood’s legendary singer Asha Bhosle has been ruling millions of hearts with her iconic songs and melodious voice. Asha was today honored with the prestigious Yash Chopra Memorial Award. She was presented with the award by Rekha. 

Rekha even touched her feet and hugged Asha Bhosle at the event. The beautiful divas were seen twinning in a cream and golden colored saree. They looked absolutely stunning at the event.

Also present at the award function were Alka Yagnik, Jackie Shroff, Parineeti Chopra and Jaya Prada. 

Parineeti Chopra looked gorgeous in an off-shoulder top and shiny skirt. She completed her look with smokey eyes, pink lipstick and beautiful gold necklace. On the other hand, Jackie Shroff looked handsome as ever in a white blazer and black trousers.

About the award, Alka Yagnik had earlier said, “This is a very prestigious award. It is given to the (one of the) pillars of our industry. This is the 5th year and the jury decided it is high time we acknowledge Ashaji’s contribution to the Indian cinema.’’

In an interview with a leading daily, Asha was asked about how music has changed over the years. She had said, "The earlier songs had a lot of meaning. Lyrics made sense. Tunes had more melody. They were composed from the heart. Now the brain composes songs. Computers do the job which artists did. The songs are more technically perfect because they have been created by the mind, but they have no heart in it. The soul has gone. Older songs are classics and live on forever. Today’s songs come with an expiration date."
