Ariana Grande breaks her silence on Mac Miller's death; pays a subtle & befitting tribute to her ex-boyfriend
On September 7, 2018, rapper Mac Miller passed away owing to an alleged drug overdose. Ex-girlfriend and singer Ariana Grande finally broke her silence as she paid a subtle and befitting tribute to Miller on Instagram.
The world is still in shock over the news of Mac Miller's passing. The famous rapper breathed his last on September 7, 2018, resulting from an apparent overdose. For years, Mac was dealing with substance abuse issues and on many occasions, he has publicly spoken about his tryst and struggles with drugs. The music industry mourned his loss with singers like Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan remembering the rapper. Another artist who recently broke her silence on Mac's untimely death was ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande.
With no words necessary, Ariana took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of her once upon a time love. In the photo, the rapper is seen looking fondly at the camera in a white tee and khaki shorts, while Ariana's sneakers make a small appearance. Meanwhile, Ariana and Mac had begun dating in 2016, after years of friendship. The couple even collaborated for the single The Way. Mac joined Ariana for a love-filled performance at the One Love Manchester concert in May 2017. A year later, the couple split and Ariana moved on quickly with Saturday Night Live's Pete Davidson. The couple got engaged a month later.
After their split, Ariana had shared a heartbreaking yet full of hope note for her ex-boyfriend Mac. Ariana wrote on Instagram, "This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favourite people on the planet. I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us! … Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it’s not you."
