Amitabh Bachchan and other celebs arrive for Jaya Bachchan’s birthday dinner

On the occasion of Jaya Bachchan’s 70th birthday, designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla hosted a dinner party for close friends and family of the actor. A host of celebrities including Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Sonali Bendre were invited at the birthday dinner. 

Amitabh Bachchan was also clicked at the birthday dinner. He looked handsome as ever in a traditional outfit. On the other hand, Karan looked dapper in a black suit which he teamed with brown sunglasses. Sonali Bendre was also clicked arriving at the party by the paparazzi. She opted for a black outfit and looked stunning as ever. Jaya Bachchan’s close friends Hiroo Johar, Rima Jain and others arrived to wish her.

Earlier in the day, Amitabh Bachchan wrote a heartfelt message on his blog on Jaya Bachchan’s birthday. “She be wife and Mother .. and she be with her ‘progress report’. Feelings and love delivered .. writings of occasion hand written on card .. the gratitude of the special day and spending the time with all about, reminiscing ..”

Abhishek Bachchan shared a throwback black-and-white picture of his 'ma'. He captioned the image as, "Happy Birthday Ma. You are the world to me, love you!"

On the work front, after Shoojit Sircar’s National Award-winning 2016 film Pink, Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu are reportedly set to reunite for Sujoy Ghosh’s next film. 
 

On the other hand, Jaya Bachchan has been nominated by the Samajwadi Party for the third term for the upcoming Rajyasabha polls. She filed her nomination and an affidavit declaring the assets owned by her and Amitabh Bachchan.
