Badrinath Ki Dulhania starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan today completed one year. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the movie was all about an interesting plot and the sizzling on-screen chemistry between Alia and Varun. It was one of the most loved movies of 2017 and had won several accolades at various awards shows.
On this special occasion, Alia shared a special post on Twitter saying, ‘’Can’t believe it’s already been 1 YEAR OF BKD. Thank you for giving the dulhania team soo much love always.. An experience so special with the most special people @ShashankKhaitan @Varun_dvn @karanjohar.’’ She also shared a picture with Varun Dhawan from the movie.

Alia played the role of Kavya, while Varun played the role of Badri in the film. Talking about her character, Alia had earlier said, "Kavya (in the first film) is younger, more naive, simpler character. She has one aim in life, to get married, in a lehenga. Whereas Vaidehi (in 'Badri') wants to fly, Ashe doesn't want to only get married. She is a strong, mature, ambition driven, more feminist kind of character.’’
Talking about Varun’s character, she had said, ‘’No, he doesn’t play a stalker. Badri is not stalking Vaidehi. From the beginning, we were very clear on this. Varun wouldn’t play a stalker. And I wouldn’t encourage that kind of attention. Yes the couple have their issues. But she is in love with him all the same.’’
Earlier in an interview, when Varun was asked about how does he felt to get a positive response for Badrinath Ki Dulhania, he had said, "People seem to have liked it. It feels good when a character becomes iconic.I have been getting letters from all over the country, be it UP or Rajasthan. The idea of doing a character like Badri is to make him memorable; it's one of my most special characters. Growing up, I would hear about the dowry menace and women not being treated as equals so it was exciting to get a script where I could make some kind of a statement about such issues."
