Akshay Kumar inaugurates a Pad-Vending machine; Sonakshi Sinha makes a stylish appearance in the city

Akshay Kumar has been receiving rave reviews for his performance in PadMan. In the film, the super-talented actor essays the role of Arunachalam Muruganantham, inventor of low-cost sanitary napkins for women in rural areas. The movie also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles. 

Today, the actor was clicked at the inaugural ceremony of pad vending machine in the city. He looked handsome in a grey shirt and black pants. Akshay styled his look with sunglasses and was all smiles at the event. 

When asked if PadMan is his career’s toughest role yet, the actor had said, ‘’Toughest... physically, no, but career-wise, yes. This is a very sensitive yet brave subject, which needed my utmost care and attention. It was tough in the sense I had to become the ‘man’ that women really needed me to be, and I didn’t want to let anyone down. Being Pad Man takes courage. I not only had to experiment with myself, but also had to learn the ins and outs of sanitation and menstruation. I had to grab hold of this project and give it absolute respect despite any of my own male fears, until I realised there was nothing to fear but my own insecurities.’’

Akshay had also said, “Women are going for tax free sanitary, but I say it should be completely free. Cut the five percent money from defence, make one bomb less and give it to women to get the sanitary napkin.”

Sonakshi Sinha was also clicked at event today. The actor donned an all-black outfit and looked uber-stylish. Neat hairdo and pink lipstick completed her look. 

Sonakshi is currently busy with the promotions of her upcoming movie, Welcome To New York. Talking about her character in the film, she had said, “The character is supposed to be somebody who is an aspiring fashion designer and has her own quirky sense of fashion. To go with the quirks in her personality, we added certain quirks to her look too and that really added to the character.”

The movie also stars Karan Johar and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. The film is slated to release on February 23, 2018.
