Sharing her experience on working with Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul said, "My first day of shoot was with Manoj and he is amazing. I have grown up watching his films. He is an extremely talented actor and so comfortable to work with, very encouraging. He is extremely hilarious — he was the only one joking all the time on the sets! I learnt a lot from him. Sid, on the other hand, is a very easy-going guy. Both of us are from Delhi, which we realised while shooting and hit it off well on that note. He is non filmi, is grounded, has no airs about himself and is very hard working."

Meanwhile, in an interview with a leading trade website, Sidharth spoke about how working with Manoj has helped him out as an actor. He said, "I think that since Manoj Bajpayee is from theatre he is more pure as an actor, and he was far more involved in helping me, and making the environment nice and comfortable for me in Aiyaary, even though we have very few scenes together in the film."

"It is more of a cat-and-mouse game but after the shoot, we would always talk about the performance. He conducts workshops himself, he is an acting coach, in a way. I think with Manoj, I have had more of a mentor-student relationship and that is what the film is about. It’s been great and I have learnt a lot from him in Aiyaary," said Sid.

He added, "He would take the time to discuss certain scenes, the prep he had done, and how important it is for an actor to work on his craft. He would teach me little things about acting every day. He used to give me exercises to bring out the best in me as an actor. With him, it has been a great learning experience from just talking to him about acting, to exercises and preparation."
