Aishwarya Rai Bachchan leaves for the United States with daughter Aaradhya in tow

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will receive inaugural Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the first Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Awards. The Awards ceremony will take place in Maryland and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the guest of honour. Janhvi Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Khushi Kapoor will also be felicitated at the awards event. Aishwarya Rai will be honoured for her acting talent and her work over the years. Aishwarya was clicked at the airport by the shutterbugs as she headed to the United States of America to accept the honour.

Aishwarya looked charming as ever in a black tee, black denim and a black overcoat. Daughter Aaradhya Bachchan was in a cheerful mood and was photographed hopping and smiling as she spoke to her mother at the airport. Aaradhya looked adorable in a white tee, blue denim and an orange jacket. Aaradhya often accompanies Aishwarya to her international appearances and events. Abhishek Bachchan, who is busy with the promotions of his film, Manmarziyaan took to his Twitter account to share the news of Aishwarya being honoured in America.

Women in Film and Television (WIFT) shared in a statement that it is honouring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with the Meryl Streep Award for “showing distinction in her craft and for expanding the role of women within the entertainment industry. Whether it is her extraordinary body of work or her charitable endeavors, Ms. Streep is an inspiration for all.”
