Aamir Khan & Kiran Rao snapped at Producers Guild meeting to discuss ways to make industry safer for women

In the light of the recent upswing in the Me Too movement in Bollywood, actor and producer, Aamir Khan attended a Producers’ Guild meeting with wife Kiran Rao to devise ways to make the film industry a safer place for women. Take a look.

Day after day, new names are coming up from Bollywood who are being accused by women for sexual harassment. Recently, producer of the 90’s show, Tara, revealed that senior Actor Alok Nath raped her and harassed her 20 years back. Post this revelation, the industry was left shocked. Immediately coming into action, Producers’ Guilds released a statement saying that they were willing to extend support to anyone who comes forward and needs help.

Now, keeping this in mind, Actor and producer, Aamir Khan & wife Kiran Rao were snapped today when they went to attend a meeting of the Producers’ Guild. The meeting was arranged to discuss ways to make the Indian Film Industry more safer for women to come and work in. This meeting came a day after the Producers’ Guild extended their support to the growing Me Too Movement after a number of Bollywood actors, Producers and artists were blamed for harassing female colleagues at workplace.

The Me Too Movement started off in India after actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar for sexually harassing her in 2008 during the shoot of Horn Ok Please. Post her revelation, a lot of women came out and accused prominent personalities from the Industry like Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, Alok Nath, Utsav Chakraborty to name a few. The Bollywood organisations that govern the actors and producers like CINTAA and Producers Guild immediately came into action and henceforth have extended their support to anyone who comes to them with a complaint. The netizens have called it the rise of Me Too movement in Bollywood.
