Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurana and Rajkummar Rao promoted Bareilly Ki Barfi in the city today. The film directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is scheduled to be released on 18 August.

The team released the first look of their film sometime back, and received a good response to it. Bollywood lovers felt that that the film had a quirky and vibrant feel to it. "I cant believe what I've just read? Bareilly Ki Barfi...Just cant wait for you to read it..Here's a glimpse," Kriti had captioned the poster. 

Director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari recently spoke about her film saying, "I feel as a story-teller your research and detailing has to be perfect.. especially if your film is a 'slice of life' film. My films always have detailing as we do lot of research. When I was in advertising, I used to handle a lot of brands where we used to research in UP, MP, Bihar and Odisha. So it comes automatically to me."

On a shortage of women directors in the industry, Ashwiny said: "Earlier, it was considered an out of the box field. Parents thought being a director means being Bollywood. But now parents take film making as a job. Earlier, there were not many women in this industry but now the country is changing, the thinking is changing, and many women are coming into the profession at assistant levels who could be the directors of tomorrow. So our duty is to encourage these women and inspire them."

Ayushmann said, "In this film Bareilly Ki Barfi, I am playing a small town boy who is very bullish by nature. In this film, I also dance madly in some scenes like what we do at our friends' weddings."
