PICS: A cheerful Ranveer Singh gets papped in the city

Ranveer Singh is clicked here by the paps, in the city. The handsome actor was his usual,cheerful self as he waved to the shutterbugs.

On the work front, Ranveer is busy with his Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavati. The movie directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali features Deepika Padukone in the title role as Rani Padmini, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. It is currently scheduled for release on 17 November.

The film is a historical account of the life of Rani Padmini, a legendary queen mentioned in Padmavat. According to Padmavat, she was the wife of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh, the ruler of Mewar. In 1303, Alauddin Khilji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, laid siege to the Chittor Fort in Rajputana. According to Padmavat, Khilji led the invasion motivated by his desire to capture Rani Padmini.

Team Padmavati however revealed that there will not be any scenes between Deepika aka Rani Padmavati and Ranveer Singh aka Alauddin Khilji.

Ranveer will also be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, in a totally different avatar. He will feature in the film opposite the lovely Alia Bhatt. 

The vivacious actor was last seen in the Aditya Chopra movie Befikre opposite Vaani Kapoor.
