Deepika became a known face internationally with her Hollywood movie xXx Return of Xander Cage where she featured opposite Vin Diesel. The movie fared well at the BO. Buzz is that director D. J Caruso is planning another sequel and Deepika is very much a part of it. However, Dippy has not yet confirmed this news.
Deepika is currently busy with her Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavati, which also features Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor. The movie is all set to release this November and we are super excited for it.
It has been a good year for Deepika as she has been gaining a lot of fame internationally. She also had her debut walk at the Cannes International Film Festival this year, where she rocked all the looks. Deepika recently spoke about the perception of Indian cinema to the international audience in an interview saying, "I think internationally the perception of Indian cinema is about colour, culture, song, dance, that grandeur and scale. For them, it is still about larger than life characters. Having said that, there are movie lovers who are well versed with our cinema which is beyond that."
She said there is a lot to do with educating international audience about Indian cinema.
"I was talking to Susan Sarandon and she was telling me that her son is making a film where he picked up the dance element from Indian films that he incorporated in his film. So you know the perception is that. Yes, I know that our movie is beyond song-dance saga but I think there is a lot to do with educating international audience about our cinema," Deepika said.
