Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin is calling Indian actresses for the audition of Jasmine: Who would fit this meaty role?

Disney is all set to kick-start the much awaited Aladdin remake and buzz is that they are looking for actors from India and the Middle East to make the movie authentic. For some time now, fans have been eager to see either Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra portray the lovely character of Jasmine in the movie. Both the stars now have a global appeal too, what with their Hollywood flicks giving them international recognition. 

As per a leading daily, the  casting company has called for the audition of the film’s lead characters Aladdin and Jasmine as, “Its been our hushed casting for weeks and NOW we are delighted to announce an OPEN CALL for Guy Ritchie's Aladdin. Please apply ONLY if you have Middle Eastern Heritage OR Indian Heritage (from the country India). This is a requirement.  Please remember, you must be fluent in English, you must be able to SING VERY WELL."

However, we know that Bollywood is housing many other gorgeous actresses who, we are sure, would also fit the bill perfectly. Have a dekko at our choices and let us know if you agree.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone stunned in the hit xXx Return of Xander Cage, which released in January this year. The movie saw Deepika feature opposite Vin Diesel and was a decent hit at the BO.  The actress is also a popular face in the west given the many international fashion events that she attended in the past few years. We think this dimpled beauty would be a good choice to play Jasmine. What about you?

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka on the other hand was seen in the recently released Hollywood flick Baywatch, which got mixed reviews from the critics. PC however was appreciated for her performance as the antagonist Victoria Leeds. Besides, Priyanka is now a household name in the West what with her Quantico all set for a third season. This speaks volumes about Priyanka's popularity. Would PC then be the perfect fit for Aladdin's Jasmine?

Alia Bhatt

Alia is Bollywood's current favourite what with all her movies raking in good profits at the box office. She is sweet, slender and a good singer, which makes her one of the top contenders for this meaty role. Don't you agree?

Shraddha Kapoor

The light-eyed beauty plus melodious singer of Bollywood - Shraddha Kapoor would make a sweet Jasmine. Agree?

Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra made a sort of a comeback in Bollywood with her film Meri Pyari Bindu. With her acting prowess and her singing skills, we don't see why Parineeti could not give this one a shot!

Sonakshi Sinha, with her traditional looks and crooning abilities could fit the bill, as well. Sonakshi recently commented when asked about her Hollywood plans, "Just because others are doing it, why should I?" But we say why not!
