PICS: Celebs galore catch a screening of A Death in the Gunj

Many B-town celebs today caught a screening of Konkana Sen Sharma's movie A Death in The Gunj. The movie written and directed by Konkona, features an ensemble cast of Vikrant Massey, Tillotama Shome, Om Puri, Tanuja, Gulshan Devaiah, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, and Ranvir Shorey.  The film's World premiere took place at the 21st annual 2016 Toronto International Film Festival on 10 September 2016.

After winning global acclaim and multiple awards at film festivals, Konkona Sen Sharma's directorial debut will hit the screens in India on June 2. The film is an atmospheric thriller set in 1979 at McCluskieganj, near Ranchi. The movie, which won the Best Director honour for Konkona at the New York Indian Film Festival, is jointly produced by MacGuffin Pictures and Studioz IDrream.

For the film, Konkona revisted McCluskieganj. She says the fact that its old-world charm is still intact made the shooting experience even more exciting. "Recreating McCluskieganj was so much fun. Firstly, I didn't know if there was any archival information of that time as it was a remote area and not so well developed. As a result, I was relying on memories and talking to people. It's a very atmospheric, a largely forgotten place... very tucked away. When we reached there for the recce, we realised some things about the place are the same as 30 years ago... And it worked in our favour," Konkadna had said about her movie.

Seen here are at the screening are Rathna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Apte, Kalki Koechlin, Tanuja and Tanishaa, and Rajkummar Rao among others.
