Abhishek Bachchan speaks at the Green Heroes Film Festival: The earth does matter
Abhishek Bachchan attended an event today where he spoke of the importance of going green.
Abhishek Bachchan today attended the Green Heroes Film Festival in Mumbai. TERI and the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai have come together to gather stories of unsung Green Heroes from India’s western region. The organization also conducted workshops in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore and Goa - reaching out to 135 young storytellers with sessions on cinematography, storyboarding and editing.
Congratulating the noble efforts of this project, Abhishek said at the event, "Congratulations to all the film makers, to the consulate general of US and India. Me and the family have worked with TERI for several years and they do great work in not just spreading the word but also in encouraging the youth. I am so happy that people are joining with them to spread the word."
He added, "A big problem towards the environment is that everyone looks upon themselves as an individual. And seeing ourselves as individuals, we feel insignificant. But today on seeing these films, and on seeing the heroes, you realise how significant that one person is. I congratulate every person who put their thoughts and efforts for this cause. Today, you have proved to everyone that every drop makes an ocean. I offer whatever support I can give in my limited capacity. It is important to realize that we must carry on, we must care for our enviroment, we must care for our future. If we have more green heroes like we saw today, the future is going to be bright. As a citizen of this wonderful earth, I feel proud to breath the same air as you people. We should do whatever we can, because the future does matter and the earth does matter"
Abhishek looked dapper in a formal suit at the event and posed for photographs. Check out the pics here:
