Aishwarya Rai Bachchan looks lovely as she accepts her Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Sarbjit

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is seen here looking breathtakingly beautiful in her Anju Modi creation at the DadaSaheb Phalke awards in Mumbai. Aishwarya won the award for her spectacular performance in the movie Sarbjit. Aishwarya posed for the shutterbugs and also struck a pose with the evergreen diva Hema Malini.

Sarbjit is directed by Omung Kumar and featured Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur. Randeep Hooda portrayed the title role of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian man who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1991 and who consequently spent 22 years in prison for alleged terrorism. Aishwarya and Randeep garnered a lot of praise for their performances from the critics and the audience alike. The  movie, which released on May 20 last year. fared decently at the box office. 

Aishwarya was last seen in the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also featured Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The Karan Johar directorial was in the news for Aishwarya's bold scenes with Ranbir Kapoor. 

On the personal front, it was a sad month for Aishwarya as she lost her dad Krishnaraj Rai to cancer. The actress was busy with the funeral and last rite ceremonies and spent a lot of time with her family, and near and dear ones. On a brighter note, the actress celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with hubby Abhishek Bachchan.
