IIFA Utsavam 2017 day 2: NT Rama Rao Jr, Nagarjuna, Jaya Prada grace the award function
A bevy of stars including NTR, Nagarjuna and Jaya Prada grace the IFFA Utsavam award function held in Hyderabad yesterday.
A bevy of stars dazzled at the second edition of the IIFA Utsavam event held in Hyderabad yesterday. Various talents from the Tamil and Malayalam film industries were honoured during the two-day event.
Among others spotted here were N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Nagarjuna and Jaya Prada. While NT Rama Rao Jr looked extremely handsome wearing a tuxedo, Jaya Prada chose a black gown with golden embroidery on it. Nagarjuna kept it formal wearing a white shirt which he paired with a Nehru jacket looking extremely smart.
The trio were all smiles for the camera as they made way to the award function venue.
NTR starrer Janatha Garage won several awards in the Telugu section including the Best Actor award for NTR. The movie also won the Best Film, Best Director (Koratala Siva), Best Music Director (Devi Sri Prasad), Best Lyricist (Ram Jogayya Sastry) and Best Playback Singer Female (Geetha Madhuri) awards.
NTR while receiving the award even called upon all the nominees to share the stage with him. "I consider this as a collective victory of all the nominees this year and I would like to share stage with them right now," NTR said. He further added, "I'll always be thankful to Koratala Shiva for Janatha Garage and it's going nothing to do with its box-office result. Through the film, Koratala Shiva taught me how important it is to take care of nature and the environment around us and I'll always remember the lessons."
Oscar winner A.R Rahman was presented with the best Music Direction award for Tamil movie Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada. In the Malayalam film category, it was Dulquer Salmaan starrer Charlie that won seven awards. While Salmaan bagged the best Leading Role Male award, the film also won awards in the Best Direction, best story, best Comic Role, best Lyrics, best Music Director and best Supporting Role Female categories. Mohanlal's blockbuster Puli Murugan won the coveted Best Film award.
