Shah Rukh Khan emerges victorious in the Kaun Banega Crorepati IT case
Shah Rukh Khan has won the Income Tax case scrutinizing his earnings from his stint on Kaun Banega Crorepati
Remember, years ago, Shah Rukh Khan was seen as the host of reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Though the show has come to an end, but looks like that it is haunting the actor, until today. Why?
In retrospect, Shah Rukh Khan had been served notices by the IT department on multiple occasions for allegedly not paying proper tax. As the actor has consistently been among the highest tax payers of the country, SRK has finally won his Income Tax case scrutinizing his earnings from his stint on Kaun Banega Crorepati. Khan, who was served notices by the IT department for allegedly not paying proper tax on his income, got a reprieve from Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT). On a similar line, ITAT ruled the case in favor of Shah Rukh Khan.
A report by Taxmann.com stated, “The loss suffered by Star India due to non-production of another season of KBC with SRK was sought to be recouped by SRK with the earnings from the sponsorship of KKR IPL team. So, SRK paid Rs 10 crore to get sponsorship of KKR for Star India, even though he was not legally liable to incur such a huge sum.”
Amid all the commotion, Shah Rukh Khan is busy shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s forthcoming movie , tentatively titled- The Ring.
