Popular sportsperson like PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Saniya Mirza among others received accolades for their incredible contribution to the field at an award function held in the city today.
Bollywood stars including Vidya Balan, Sonu Sood and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali also attended the event.
Dressed in a mustard Anarkali dress, Vidya looked extremely beautiful. She completed the look wearing a kundan earrings. Urvashi Rautela looked extremely elegant in a light blue gown. She was also snapped interacting with Sakshi Malik during the event.
Sonu Sood suited up for the event wearing a checked blazer over a violet coloured shirt. Imtiaz Ali looked smart in a blue coloured T-Shirt layered with a black jacket. For footwear, he wore a camouflage print shoes adding to his coolness quotient.
Sakshi Malik pulled off a chic look wearing a printed dress. Dangal's girl Fatima Sana Shaikh also marked her presence at the event.
Coming to the awards, Shutter PV Sindhu won the Sportsperson of the Year award. The Gymnast of the Year award was bagged by Dipa Karmakar while her coach Bisheshwar Nandi won the Coach of the year.
Wrestler Sakshi Malik, who won a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics last year, was awarded the Best Wrestler of the Year award.
Coming to cricket, off-spinner R Ashwin was conferred with the Best player for Cricket award. The peoples choice award for cricket was accorded to Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli. Though the duo wasn't present to receive their awards, BCCI CEO Rahul Johri received the awards on their behalf.
