Aishwarya Rai Bachchan alongwith daughter Aaradhya and Abhishek Bachchan arrive for dad Krishnaraj Rai's prayer meet, being held in Mumbai.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's dad Krishnaraj Rai passed away in Mumbai on Saturday evening after a prolonged illness. He was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in a critical condition two weeks ago wherein he was put on a ventilator at the Intensive Care unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Krishnaraj was reportedly suffering from lymphoma cancer which spread to his brain. Earlier, he underwent a treatment for cancer but apparently, cancer relapsed.
Today, a prayer meet for the deceased soul was held in Mumbai. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with daughter Aaradhya, husband Abhishek Bachchan and mother Brindya Rai were snapped arriving for the prayer meet in the city.





Abhishek Bachchan stood rock solid with his wife in this hour of grief. Aishwarya was believed to be very close to her father.
Krishnaraj Rai's funeral took place around 8.30 pm at Vile Parle Seva Sansthan Shamshan Bhoomi on Saturday evening.
Many Bollywood celebrities had come to pay their last respects to Aishwarya's father including Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ashutosh Gowariker, Kunal Kapoor with his wife Naina Bachchan, Mickey Contractor, Sikandar Kher and Goldie Behl.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan even posted a long message on his official blog. “That call you wait anxiously knowing that it will come, and come it does to end all other calls .. glimpses of reactions in the mind, of the lost one, of those that shall reflect on the lost one .. and suddenly then in the midst of sorrow and grief among the grieved and grieving ..” wrote Big B.
He further added, “That walk to the ultimate destination and the reality… Embracing the tragedy, the discussions on its transport, its rituals, its formalities… The custom, the tradition, the visitors with the sadness and the embrace of consolation, the last rites, the carriage, the placement, the cremation… What to say what to put out where to put to… All laden with grief and departure."
